Nokia Smartphones More Than iPhone


Nokia smartphone sales volume is predicted to more than Apple. But for business smartphone revenue, Apple is still leading.

Revenue smartphone market is still dominated by Apple with a contribution of approximately 29 percent. When combined, Apple, Nokia and RIM, have contributed approximately 64 percent of total revenue in the smartphone market.

Launched by Cellular News, Friday (3/18/2011), the data is taken from Stratery Analytics throughout 2010. In these data, the iPhone smartphone sales volume is only approximately 16 percent of the world smartphone market overall.

While the Nokia smartphone sales volume contributes only 20 percent, RIM with 15 percent of total market revenue. Samsung is still a small revenue from smartphones, only approximately 9 percent. But Samsung has proved to be a champion android smartphone, HTC beat.

"Although only represent 22 percent of the smartphone handset market last year but the revenue side, the smartphone contributed approximately 50 percent of total world smartphone market," said Tom Kang, Director of Wireless Smartphone Strategies from the Strategic Analytics.

It is, further Kang, shows how important the smartphone market in increasing the value of the handset market. Unlike the mobile phone features, the average selling price of smartphone considered stable in numbers USD300 in 2010, supported by new technologies such as retina LCD, AMOLED display, and processor speed 1GHz.
